It's nice to have a battery that lasts more than a day.</div><div><br /></div><div>Are any of you familiar with <a href="http://www.plinky.com">Plinky</a>? It's kind of a writer's-block-breaker, with prompts and such. Another good writer's block resource is <a href="http://lab.drwicked.com/writeordie.html">Dr. Wicked's Write or Die application</a>. It saved my novel last November (I am kind of a masochist--<a href="http://www.nanowrimo.org">NaNoWriMo</a> is awesome!)</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Calessa Blackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06206233215250622903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-990331204362472558.post-36277186204945510982009-04-07T21:32:00.001-04:002009-04-07T21:34:00.057-04:00I have had a slightly crappy day.<div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.manbottle.com/humor/what_to_do_when_you_re_having_a_bad_day">This </a>made me feel so much better, terrible as it is.</div>Calessa Blackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06206233215250622903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-990331204362472558.post-89651406824890078562009-04-07T11:32:00.003-04:002009-04-07T11:38:35.079-04:00Aggressive Campaigns and Failing DialogueI did a bit of catching up on my <a href="http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/">ScriptFrenzy</a> yesterday, though I'm still woefully behind. It's amazing how, in a regular story, I can have characters argue for pages and pages with nothing but dialogue....but it's killing me to have nothing but sounds here.<div><br /></div><div>I guess we'll see how it pans out.</div><div><br /></div><div>In other news, elections for the student government are being held today, and one particular set of candidates has been spending an excessive amount of effort on recruiting voters. Seriously: stuffing mailboxes, posters everywhere....even door hangers. You know, like the ones you get in hotels, that say "Do not disturb"? </div><div><br /></div><div>Sigh.</div><div><br /></div><div>I didn't vote for them.</div><div><br /></div><div>How do you feel about aggressive campaigning?</div>Calessa Blackhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06206233215250622903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-990331204362472558.post-74016780801400907632009-04-05T16:59:00.003-04:002009-04-05T17:04:11.629-04:00Catch UpToday, I'm catching up on the<a href="http://blog.writersdigest.com/poeticasides/default.aspx"> PAD</a> I skipped earlier in the week. In my defense, I was thinking about them...just not writing them.<div><br /></div><div>After, I'll try to catch up on my <a href="http://www.scriptfrenzy.org">ScriptFrenzy</a>. </div><div><br /></div><div>And perhaps after that, I'll study for my French test tomorrow.</div><div><br /></div><div>In other news, I got some lovely yarn very cheaply at a garage sale the other day--four large skeins of usually expensive homespun for $4 :) That'll fuel my blanket for awhile!</div>Odessa Simonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05949458487057256853noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-990331204362472558.post-91904660783977189212009-04-01T23:06:00.004-04:002009-04-05T16:59:33.478-04:00Swamped...?Began <a href="http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/">ScriptFrenzy</a> late last night; managed less than a page that I don't really like.<div><br /></div><div>Am supposed to be writing a paper about Sophocles' <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">Antigone</span> and a speech about the French Revolution.</div><div><br /></div><div>Instead, I am starting April's <a href="http://http//blog.writersdigest.com/poeticasides/CommentView,guid,b18860be-3ebe-4e64-a847-39f454bc420e.aspx">Poem-a-Day challenge.</a></div><div><br /></div><div>Wish me luck with my self-imposed, constant state-of-crisis!</div>Odessa Simonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05949458487057256853noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-990331204362472558.post-71178943260428431062009-03-31T21:20:00.006-04:002009-04-01T23:10:13.568-04:00Obligatory Introduction Post of DOOMSo, here we are.<div><br /></div><div>If we were meeting in real life, I'm certain we'd be looking at each other awkwardly, trying to figure out how to say something clever that could not possibly backfire and make us look stupid. I'd probably be failing.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's good to meet you. I'm December. I'm an English major, and am in love with life! I adore words, crafts, music, and baking.</div><div><br /></div><div>Don't be shy...I won't bite unless you ask me to ;)</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>And now...a mundane adventure into my life!</div><div><br /></div><div>Earlier today, after sleeping through my 2 o'clock class and hurrying over to my 4 o'clock (only to discover that it was cancelled), I was enjoying the pre-spring weather and walking around town. It was getting a little late, and we were about ready to head back to campus for dinner, when we came across a produce and health food store that sells lentils and whole-wheat pastry flour! I was watching the Food Network with a friend awhile ago, and have been looking for these ingredients ever since, to make <a href="http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/lentil-cookies-recipe/index.html">lentil cookies</a>. I was really excited...but had no money on me. I know what I'm doing this weekend!</div><div><br /></div><div>Oh, wait....</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm going to give <a href="http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/">ScriptFrenzy</a> a go. I only JUST came up with a plot. Wish me luck!</div>Odessa Simonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05949458487057256853noreply@blogger.com0
